Anne Slowther is Associate Professor in Clinical Ethics at Warwick medical School where she leads the undergraduate and postgraduate ethics teaching.  She was the lead investigator on the original study into the provision of clinical ethics support in the UK and was a founder member of UKCEN.  Since 2002 she has directed the clinical ethics support programme at the Ethox Centre in the University of Oxford. A major function of this programme is to support the development of clinical ethics committees in the UK and the activities of the Network.  Anne has written and lectured widely on clinical ethics support both nationally and internationally, and is a member of the European Clinical Ethics Network. She is Chair of the ethics committee of the European Respiratory Society and a member of the clinical ethics forum of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwick NHS Trust.  She is on the Editorial Committee of the journal Clinical Ethics and is also a member of the Advisory Boards of the Journal of Medical Ethics and she is a member of the Governing Body of the Institute of Medical Ethics. Anne continues to work as a GP one day a week.
