Euthanasia for children in Belgium is now legal, (http://rt.com/news/belgium-king-sign-euthanasia-bill-566/) and of course has been permitted in the Netherlands for some years  (The Groningen Protocol — Euthanasia in Severely Ill Newborns Verhagen E, Sauer P. N Engl J Med 2005; 352:959-962) Whereas in Southern European countries we know ventilators and resuscitation are rarely withdrawn/withheld, even when children are dying! (Devictor D et al.
